The line of Spraus that I am tracing starts in Waldausan, Rennish,
Bavaria with the birth of Christ Sprau in 1824. He came to this country and settled in
Erie, Sandusky, Ohio in 1842.
In 1850 he married Catherine Elizabeth Rohrbacher. They had eleven
children. The succeeding generations were active in the growth of Sandusky. They were
merchants, businessmen, and also served on the fire department.
There are many blanks to fill in on this line, and I would like to hear
from others researching this surname.
